Usage Limits & Conditions¶
This page explains the usage limits that apply to your Vietmap API account, how to read them on the Console Dashboard, what happens when a limit is reached, and which actions require administrator permission.
Account Types¶
Your limits and available actions depend on your account type:

Accounts created by our Sales team are Enterprise by default. If you have a Trial account and want to upgrade, make a payment to be granted administrator permission and unlock higher limits. See Payment & Billing for details.
Consumers & API Keys¶
Every account comes with two consumers out of the box, each with its own API key:

| public tile | Tilemap | Displaying the map on the client (web/mobile). This key is embedded in the tilemap and is safe to expose. |
Use the right key for the right job: the default key is for backend API calls and should never be shipped to a client, while the public tile key is meant to be published in your client app to render the map. They each have their own usage limits and permissions — please do not confuse them. See Manage API key for details.
Quota Concepts¶
- Total Quota — the overall quota of your account, shown as Total / Used / Available.
- Daily Quota — the per-day quota of the account (applies to daily-limit warnings).
- Limit per API — the rate limit for an individual API, expressed as Per Minute / Per Hour / Per Day (applies to Trial accounts).
- Daily request per API — how many requests a single API has used today versus its daily limit (e.g.
500/500).
Reading the Total Quota Card¶
The Total Quota card on the Dashboard shows the percentage used, a progress bar, and the Used / Total figures. The progress bar color tells you the status at a glance:

| 80%–99% | Yellow | Almost full. Consider topping up to avoid a service interruption. |
| 100% or more | Red | Quota used up. The percentage may show above 100% (e.g. 116%); the available figure is hidden. |
Click Detail to expand the card for a per-API breakdown.
Our system will automatically send you an email notification when your account reaches 80% and 100% of the total quota, but you can also monitor it on the Console Dashboard at any time.
Per-API Limits (Trial)¶
Trial accounts have a limit on each API. In the expanded Total Quota card you can see a read-only table of limits per API:
- Columns: API · Per Minute · Per Day · Today · Status
- Status badges:
x/x(red) — the API has used up its daily request allowance for today.on— the API is enabled.off— the API is not yet enabled.
This table is for monitoring only on Trial accounts. Accounts that are not Trial do not see this table.
Default Trial Limits¶
These are the limits applied to a new Trial account. Most APIs allow 500 requests/day with a per-minute cap of 100 or 200. The Default column shows each API's initial Status in the console table above: On = enabled, Off = not yet enabled.

Off means the API is not enabled on Trial by default. Auto Complete has no daily cap (per-minute only). Need higher limits or an API that's off? Contact support to upgrade.
When a Limit Is Reached¶
- Trial: Once an API hits 500 requests today (500/500), it pauses until the daily limit resets the next day — or until you upgrade.
- Standard: Usage is billed against your total quota. When the total quota is fully used (the card shows red / 100%), requests are blocked until you top up.
- Enterprise: Calls beyond the rate limit (200 requests/minute by default) are rejected. Wait a minute and retry, or contact support to raise the limit. The daily quota also warns at 80% (yellow) and blocks at 100% (red) for the rest of the day.
To avoid interruptions, top up or upgrade your account before reaching the cap.
Permissions¶
Adjusting quota and per-API limits requires administrator permission on the account.

Regardless of permission, you can always view all account information and copy your API key.
